5-days kayak tour
Period: June - September

 

Day 1. The tour starts from Kangaatsiaq and we row between islands and fiords and the first stop is an old exsettlement Qipingasoq. We go on rowing to the fiord, Tunuarsuk, to the bottom and the tour has been in 22 kilometers. Thereafter we row up in the river to Kuussuaq - the big river. After this long rowing in kayak, we can stretch our legs and go to the
mountain. There from you have a unforgettable view to the fiord.

 

Day 2. After breakfast we row in the fiord to a place, named Ikerasak, We stop a little bit there and go on rowing the next fiord Tunuarsuk to a place named Ikerasannguaq. We go on to the settlement Niaqornaarsuk with about 370 population. In this place and if you are interested in visiting a Greenlandic family, you can drink coffee in a local home for 25 kr.
After stop in this settlement goes the tour on to the mouth of Arfersiorfik and you can compare with the nature crafts in form of strong streams in the tide. On this tour you can see different whales and seals. Next stop is a exsettlement, Aalatsivik.
This tour is 19 kilometers long.

 

Day 3. After breakfast in Aalatsivik we row on Aalatsivikfiord to a place named Qaqqatsiaraq. There from you carry your kayak and go over a mountain to an inland sea named Uiarsaariaq. We go on rowing to an another inland sea, Tulukkaat. In this tour you can see different bird nests in the side of the hills. You have many chances to angle for trout's and you can eat your catch at the end of this days tour. You can cook your catch using heather as fuel.
>From the inland sea, Uiarsaariaq goes the tour on to the inland sea of Tulukkaat and you can row to the river and you go on rowing to the river, Kuukasiit in the Ataneqfiord and turn on to the mouth of the fiord to an exsettlement, Tununngasoq. You stay overnight and the tour has been in about 23 kilometers.

Day 4. After breakfast in Tununngasoq you row to the settlement Iginniarfik. The population lives only of hunting and fishing. You can go around in the settlement and you go on rowing to a another settlement - Ikerasaarsuk - it lies in the mouth of Ataneqfiord. The population there are very kind and friendly to the strangers. After stop there we go on rowing to the next fiord, Alanngorsuaq - which have many different salt-water deer's and birds. Thereafter you arrive to Tinuteqisaaq. The tour has been about 25 kilometers and you stay overnight there.

Day 5. After breakfast in Tinuteqisaaq goes the tour on to the town Kangaatsiaq. You row on part of the mouth of Arfersiorfik. You can stop there and see different salt-water deer's. The tour has been about 14 kilometers long.

This tour serves many adventures and it is about 100 kilometers long


Prize: DKK 5.400,-, Kayak, Tent and sleeping bag and to nights in Kangaatsiaq are included.
